Marine and Coastal

As former WA coordinator of the Marine and Coastal Community Network, Giz is passionate about coastal and marine conservation.  

The impact on the marine and coastal environment through the dredging of the Fremantle Harbour has been of concern to the Greens for some time. The Greens have asked the Minister for  Environment to put an immediate halt to the project and order the reassessment of its environmental impact. Giz has moved disallowance motions in Parliament against inadequate marine park protection (Jurien Bay Marine Park) and objected to the sinking of a dive wreck in a marine park.

Giz is a member of the Australian Marine Conservation Society and the Coastal Waters Alliance of WA.
